Botany Certification Course Concludes with Field Trip to Plum Canyon
The Botany Certification Course wrapped up on Monday, March 30th with a field trip to Plum Canyon. Larry Hendrickson, Botanist for the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park®, led the group and a tour of the popular Plum Canyon. While most of the flowering annuals were gone, a few late bloomers were seen, probable germination as a result of the late rains in the area.
See the Reports from the Field section of the Web site for a wonderful picture of the unusual Desert Threadplant, Nemacladus rubescens. Thanks to Carla Hoegen for the image.
